When i saw those weird versions..well, i had to put down the right one.
Its one of my favorite exercise slap riffs, i always play it with my drummer for warm up.

intro: repeat x(2)

Ok, now here is that crazy part. Hold your slap thumb in line with string (horizontaly). 
 those `ghost` notes (x) - you have to slap them all....all..;) (bend them?) laik.
I hold the g note (e string, 3 field) with my thumb. Try it out..if it works for you..
