F.A.Q (Frequently Asked Questions)

How do I read tabs?

A guide to reading and understanding tabs can be found here. A notation guide here.

How can I submit a tab?

To submit a song, go here. The tab submitted will be added below, and
later to the archive. I really appreciate submissions, so please submit!

How do I tune my bass guitar?

The easiest way is to have a electronic tuner, but those cost money. And you don't
train your ear or have it around all the time. You can use this program, but the best
way is to get an E tone from somewhere, and tune the low E (thickest) string after
this. Then tune the rest of the strings after that one. The next string (A), equals
the fifth fret on the thicker string. The same goes for all the others for regular
four string basses.

How do I keep track of the timing when playing?

You can use a metronome or a drum machine. A simple metronome can be found here.

Can I add comments to tabs?

Yes, when viewing a tab you can click the "Add Comment" link and add a comment.
The comment will appear below the tab for all to see.

The tab for "Band"/"Song" is wrong, can I submit a correction?

Yes, when viewing a tab you can click the "Add Comment" link and add a correction.
there, or you can Submit a correction.

Can you tab "Band"/"Song" for me?

You can request tabs here. I can't promise you I or someone else will tab it,
but it's worth a shot.

What is the Download Cart?

The download cart is a feature I've added so that it'll be easier to download the
tabs you want. For this feature you'll need to have cookies enabled. The way it works
is that you can add songs to the cart by clicking "Add to cart" when viewing a tab.
Repeat for the tabs you want to download. When you're finished, go to the "Cart" and
your tabs will be listed there. To remove tabs, click the X to the right of it.

To download the tabs, click the "Download the tabs" button and save the file.
You need WinZip or XP's own decompression utility to unpack the files. After
decompression you need to view the files in WordPad, TextPad, Word etc., not
Notepad. In Notepad most of the tabs will be unreadable.
